You are never too young to get tough!

I thought today would be a good day to prepare the kids for the game I most dreaded all throughout school...."Bombardment" (a.k.a. "Dodge Ball"). I never liked having the boys in my class whip the red four square balls at any part of my body, but mostly my face! We eased into it though by using a very soft (stuffed animal like) ball. As you'll see by the pictures the children handled it well, for the most part. (PS, I wasn't REALLY doing this to prep them for phys ed, I just like throwing things at them....brahahaha!).

Kelly is "trying" to either hide or protect her head. Whatever!

It's always a good time to put your finger in your nose.
Even when a ball is coming at you!

I'll wipe that smile off your face!

Incoming!

Just afterward...they seem okay. Right?

Scott Brown

Today is Tuesday, January 19th. Jeff and I will be voting for Scott Brown and hope that if you are reading this, and you live in Massachusetts, you will do the same. Martha Coakley is using negative campaign ads to win, she doesn't know how to spell the name of the state she is running to represent, and she thinks that Curt Schillings is a Yankees fan. There are many more serious issues that she supports, which I completely oppose, but I'm trying to keep this post "light".

Go Scott! May the best MAN win!!

The Avett Brothers I and Love and You Official Video

I love this song! My brother introduced it to me about a month ago and I just can't get enough of it!

2010 PLEASE be my FRIENNNN-D!

I have to say that although my family is not healthy (not by a long shot), 2010 has already started off better than 2009 (nobody puked on me :-). However, last night as I walked upstairs with SIX, yes SIX, droppers full of medicine, I just had to sigh and then laugh. Poor Brian, who has been sick since October (he has just not been able to fully shake this cold/sinus thing), is finally on an antibiotic, fever reducer and cough syrup (with Codeine...may cause drowziness...YESSSS), Kate is on her seizure medication (we are thankful to God and her wonderful doctors that she has not had anymore seizures), and Kelly is on an antibiotic (for an ear infection) and a fever reducer. Ironically, I took Kelly to her "well check-up" yesterday, but had to go in through the "sick entrance" because she had a fever! As a side note I have to mention that I was in the same exam room yesterday, as the one I was in with Kelly the last time she was at the doctor. During our previous visit I reached into the "book bin" to get a book for Kelly and pulled out a "Woodstock Album" i.e., a record...weird). Then I pulled out a children's book on "Barack Obama", and then a children's book on "Ghandi". It was an odd assortment! When I told my mom about the Woodstock album she asked me if I took it because it would probably be worth some money. I said no, "I didn't think stealing something (at least that big :-o) from the doctors office would go unnoticed (or be appropriate :-)." However, during yesterdays visit I noticed that although the two books remained, the album was gone. I guess someone had the same idea as my mom! :-)

Aside from illness, illness, illness 2010 has been good so far. We are six days in and I've only had dessert two of those days (it's actually a miracle of sorts). I'm happy (despite all the illness) and feel blessed to have such a beautiful family. I have an idea of what I'd like to accomplish this year which is one step ahead of where I usually am at this point in the year (meaning, I usually don't have a clue). And, I guess that's it.

Everyone is sleeping right now so instead of doing laundry or cleaning the kitchen I'm going to go watch t.v.....grown-up t.v., by myself....JOY!
