Conversations with Kelly/Quotes from Kelly
I'm trying my hardest to stay off FB but there have been just too many post worthy comments and conversations I've had with Kelly lately that must be logged somewhere. :-) Here are a few:
The following questions were asked within the span of about a 15 minute car ride this morning: "What comes after winter? Why do those trees have leaves but most of them don't? Why isn't that grass growing? What comes after Spring? How do they make roads? How do they make houses? How fast are you going? How fast are you going now? How fast are you going now? How do they make toilets? How do they make cars? Why do think she's driving a black car? How did you know this was a drive thru? Why do we have to go in this store? Why are you driving in here?"...........I'm sure I've forgotten some. I was exhausted by the time I got out of the car.
Me to Kelly, "Oh Kelly (huge sigh with a smile) sometimes you are just a puzzle." Kelly, "I DO NOT like it when you call me other names! I ONLY like it when you call me "CUTE" "KELLY BELLY" and "KELLY"!!"
Today Kelly and I went to IKEA and I decided to use the family bathroom with her. To my surprise there was a HUGE RED MEDICAL EMERGENCY BUTTON right next to the toilet (like right at kid eye level). I was thinking, "WHO on earth decided that THIS is where an emergency button should go??" I'm sure that button calls out to kids, "Push me! Push me!!" As soon as I saw it I said, "DO NOT push that button! It is for emergencies ONLY." And Kelly responded, "Oh like if there's a dinosaur coming?"
Kelly just finished up her "bubble gum medicine" (Amoxicillin) for an ear infection. Kelly loves her bubble gum medicine. I just told her this was her last dose and she said in a melancholy voice, "Farewell bubble gum medicine. I'll be thinking about you tonight." I almost shed a tear.
