Poop problems, presents, and prizes...oh my!

If you enjoyed last nights entry entitled "Tinkle Talk" then you are sure to enjoy this evenings topic on poop. I would like to state that at this point you have been warned two times about the topic of this post (the first being the title). If you don't feel like reading about #2, then feel free to skip this one.

Let's start with Brian, shall we? Brian emerged from the bathroom this afternoon and exclaimed, "Mom! I pooped a little Valentine's Heart...since it's Valentine's Day!" What could I say except, "That's wonderful Brian, what a lovely gift, but you do know it's not Valentine's Day anymore, right?"

The day also wouldn't be complete without a "Kelly incident". Remember the post just beneath this one? The post with Kelly pictured pulling every last tissue out of the tissue box in the bathroom? Well just a short time ago I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and realized that it was too quiet in the living room. All three of them were in there but nobody was making a sound. As I turned the corner I saw that Kate was playing princess dolls, Brian was looking at a book and Kelly was taking all the wipes out of the wipe container and rubbing each on the top of her head. Of course she was! Why wouldn't she be??! I was just about to go in and get the wipes from her, but then I thought, why? I mean she was being quiet, and the gift of silence is far more valuable than a wasted package of wipes. About five minutes later Jeff pulled in from work (YIPEE!) and Kelly came running into the kitchen. Jeff picked her up and said, "Hi Kelly! Did you poop?" I told Jeff that she shouldn't have, since she had just gone a short time ago and I had already changed her. It was at that moment I remembered that I had left her dirty diaper (wrapped up in a tight bundle) in the living room, and a sick feeling began to creep up within me. When I entered the living room for a closer look at the wipes I noticed the now open diaper, missing it's "deposit." Thankfully (I guess if one can be thankful) it appeared as though the missing "package" had rolled onto a nearby book and only a small part was on the carpet. Poor Jeff ended up giving her a bath before eating his dinner (it wasn't done anyway), while making close observations of his own clothes to make sure he himself was clean :-).

And Kate? Kate is just great. She had another day of stellar "big girl" toilet encounters. Thank you Kate! As her prize for going she has been getting a few "Raisinets"...I swear I wasn't thinking about how they look like little poop pellets when I bought them!

So for now, let's hope our poop problems are behind us. Here's to normal Valentine gifts, clean carpets and continued fabulous potty training!
