Brian is like a camel. I don't know how he does it. He wakes up in the morning and I swear he doesn't go to the bathroom for 2-3 hours, and when he finally does go, it's usually because Jeff and I have encouraged/reminded him to do so. Anyway, Brian went into the bathroom on his own today (I believe he ran in) and then after a little while Jeff and I heard him say (in a pretty annoyed tone), "Ummm, am I going to tinkle ALL day or what?"
Speaking of "tinkling", Kelly has a new and quite annoying trick for us. Apparently she has decided that diaper changes are NOT okay, so when it's time for one she will lie still just long enough for the first diaper to be removed, and then she'll scream, arch her back, twist, and flail about with all her 13 month old strength, until she's free. And you kind of have to let her go because Jeff and I are afraid we're going to hurt her with the strength it would take to keep her down. WELL, once she is free and has run just out of arms reach, she turns around, gives a sly grin, and then proceeds to tinkle on the floor. LOVELY.
This post wouldn't be complete without mentioning our potty training champ! Kate Kate! This child has basically potty trained herself, the independent cutie that she is. I think she's only had one tinkling accident (wait a minute..maybe Kelly witnessed this accident and the brilliant idea to tinkle everywhere entered her active little brain). However, Kate doesn't like underwear because it's "being silly" (whatever that means). So most days I try to put a long shirt or dress on Kate (because she doesn't seem to like pants either), and she runs around "ready to go". Great job Kate!
I never in my life thought I would be writing a blog entry on tinkling, but then again, I never in my life thought I would be surrounded by so much tinkle!
