Wow! I took Brian to get his hair cut today (so he could see) and the
woman cutting his hair must have said about 5 times, "He's got a great
head of hair. Great movement." Then one of the barbers walked by and
said, "Geez, if I looked that good I wouldn't have to work for a
living." A few minutes later a man approached me and said, "Is that
your son? Here give him this and tell him he's being a very good boy."
And then this off duty cop gave me a junior police officer badge
sticker for Brian. THEN another young guy, probably in his late 20s,
got up from having his hair cut and looked at me and said, "He's gonna
be a haht breakah when he gets oldah" (for those of you not from Boston
that reads, "He's gonna be a heart breaker when he gets older."). When
Brian was all done he was offered two lollipops for being such a good
boy.
I gave Brian the sticker in the parking lot and
he was beaming. Then he said, "Well it IS a police officer's job to
catch people being good and bad." I told him that they probably usually
only catch people being bad and this this was refreshing for him. :-)
Brian tends not to be the biggest fan of getting his haircut but I think after today he'll be asking to go next week!
Oh
and one other funny thing - on the way home the song "Baby Come Back"
came on and all of a sudden Brian said, "Mom. There is SOMETHING in
EVERYTHING about you." I couldn't stop laughing.
